Shelter Makeover Contest II is Complete
The votes have been cast and HSBC took 5th place in the nation!! While this did not enable us to win the million dollar makeover or any further prizes, we walk away from this contest with $10,000 from making the Top 10 and a dramatic increase of awareness of the needs of our shelter, increased interest in volunteering, and 3100+ supporters who want to help us. We may not have won the big prize, bue we're STILL WINNERS!
Even though we didn't win the contest, we haven't given up hope on making our shelter a bigger and better place for the animals that rely on us. Shelter Makeover Contest Stage Three
On April 7th, the Top 10 shelters in the 2nd Annual ZooToo Million Dollar Makeover Contest were announced!
The Humane Society of Barron County was one of them!!!!

The Quick and Easy 1, 2, 3
1) Vote 10 times a day from Monday, April 13 - Sunday, April 19th - Voting Page
2) Once you cast your first vote, if you're NOT already a member of ZooToo, it will have you sign up. You must register and post a picture in order to vote.
3) Tell all your friends, family, coworkers, and everyone you meet on the street to vote for HSBC!!!
The Details
The final part of this contest is the AMERICA VOTES segment. From 11 am CST on Monday, April 13th to Sunday, April 19th, every person above the age of 13 is allowed to vote TEN TIMES a DAY for their favorite shelter. And if you're reading this, we hope your favorite shelter is the Humane Society of Barron County!!!
You will need a profile picture. While a picture of yourself is preferred, a picture of a pet or pretty scenery is allowed too. WITHOUT a profile picture, you will not be able to vote!!!
From April 13th to April 19th, visit the ZooToo voting page and cast your TEN VOTES EVERY DAY.
The shelter with the most votes at the end of the contest will win a million dollar makeover. The shelter with the second most votes, $50,000. Third place will win $25,000.

Shelter Makeover Contest Stage Two, Part Two
Richard Thompson visited HSBC on March 18th and I think he liked what he saw - a community that had come together to help our shelter, a team of staff and volunteers willing to do anything it took to help the animals that depend on them, and a place that he hopefully thought would be perfect to give a million dollar makeover to.
Everyone is wanting to hear why our supporters feel we need this makeover and at the interactions we have with our supporters. So please, if you've ever been to our shelter, take the time to write a journal entry or two of what you thought could benefit from some financial help and even if you haven't been to the shelter, please take the time to check out HSBarron's journal entries on the subject.
